 The month of renewing our contract with the Holy Spirit

The European Convention of 2011, popularly referred to as Eurocon 2011 has come and gone. There were several testimonies during the event but many more afterwards. Testimonies are pouring in from different nations on what the Lord did during and after the Convention. We give all the glory to the Lord and to all our friends from across the world that prayed, supported or even personally came to witness and participate in the event.

At the end of the Convention, on Sunday April 25, 2011, the General Overseer accompanied by his wife led the special thanksgiving service in Den Haag in the newly acquired auditorium of the Praise House International Parish of the RCCG in that royal city. One of the most important points made at the meeting was that as a mission we shall be witnessing a new year…this was at the end of April! Springtime is the beginning of a new season but definitely not a new year!

 One of the implications of this prophetic proclamation is that the Lord having restored our lives is now determined that we start the new month beginning from the present month of May as our new year. This means that the present month is our first month of the year and we move into the second month in June, in a few days’ time. The key to becoming a recipient of all that God has for us is the Holy Spirit. This is why we all need to renew our contract and contact with Him. At the same time we must move to ensure that other members of our household, congregation, community and workplace become a part of these blessings.

In the book of Joel, God promised to bring an end to shame among all of His people, repeating this twice within only two verses, Joel 2: 26-27. However, it was only in v.28 the Lord showed how: He would make guarantee this…He would pour out His spirit on all flesh. This is a revolutionary statement: before now individual men (very rarely women) were given the Holy Spirit to undertake specific assignments and this power is withdrawn from them after they accomplished the mission. However, Joel indicated that God was going to continue to pour out His Spirit on all of God’s people—both men and women, young and old. As a result of the presence of His Holy Spirit in our lives, God’s people would begin to dream and envision big and seemingly impossible projects that only God can make happen. But what actualizes this as we see in Acts of the Apostles 2.1-4 is the continuous asking by God’s people from the Lord until they are endued from on High-see also Luke 11:9-13. 

I am pleased to inform you that our church has started in Lithuania. This is the 34th nation in which the RCCG has been established on this continent. More would join soon.
