APRIL EXHORTATION
Most of us have read touching stories of restoration in the old and new testaments. In 1 Samuel 9.3-13, King David sought for the only survivor of the family of Jonathan, his bosom friend, who died with former King Saul. He found a man who was lame in both legs and was living an obscure life in the village of Lodebar in a ramshackle house. King David brings Mephibosheth out of obscurity into national prominence (v.5-6). He then proceeds to make one of his King Saul’s servants, Ziba and his 15 children and 20 servants, to work the field for Mephibosheth and bring him the proceeds. Overnight, Mephibosheth prospered because His season of favor had come (Ps. 102.13). This is a clear indication that this season of restoration is going to be your own season of favor and sudden turn around. In addition, Mephibosheth is relocated from a farmhouse to the king’s newly completed palace in Jerusalem to eat and dine with the king—signifying a season of relocation for someone reading this note.
A similar touching story is told of the prodigal son by the beloved physician, Luke the gospel writer—who squanders his inheritance on careless living until he returns to his senses and his father’s house and instead of being spanked and shamed, his father, like our heavenly Father, receives him back as a son, with great joy for finding one that was dead. Other similar stories abound in God’s holy book—the woman who lost and found her coin or the man who lost and found his sheep, not to speak of the great Syrian general who was cured of leprosy and receives a completely new skin, like that of a new baby (2 Kings 5. 14). All these speak to us of what happens in the season of restoration—in which we are in.
As our Convention approaches, most of us have begun to believe the Lord for the restoration of our fortunes, health, hopes and destinies. The Lord who is the restorer of all things would make this happen at this Convention in Jesus’ mighty Name. The Lord who is also the resurrection and the life is going to perform all the needed miracles required to bring restoration about.
None of the above stories is as touching as the one in which King David himself who had been driven away from the throne was brought back by the people of Israel, after finding out that the alternative people that they had sought to lead them died—2 Sam. 19.12-15.
For us in Europe, restoration is really about bringing back King Jesus to His throne in our lives, our families, our churches and nations. Once He returns to the throne all the problems confronting us as individuals and corporate groups would find a resolution, a divine resolution. Also, please let us surrender all to His word and authority. Let us stop running our lives, families, His church and nation in our own ways and submit to His Word. He promised that if we are willing and obedient, we should eat the good of this land (Is.1.19). The fallacy that good is available only in some countries outside of mainland Europe is to be permanently debunked in this season, in Jesus’ Mighty Name!.
This is why it is of utmost importance to ensure that you not only make it but also ensure that you mobilize the largest number of persons to come for this life-changing Convention. Anyone who does not come would regret it a long time to come—use twitter and face book and special invitation cards to invite people to this great event. The churches in The Hague, besides their financial contributions are making huge billboards to invite people to come and listen to Ron Kenoly who would play especially for such crowds on the beginning day of the Convention-Wednesday, April 20, 2011.
God promised that if His people will ‘turn to Him with all of their hearts’ in fasting and prayer. If they would rend their hearts and not their garments, if they would call a solemn assembly to genuinely repent of their disobedience and rebellion against His word and ways, the Lord will pity His people, send satisfaction and will no longer make His people a reproach. He will restore to us the years that the cankerworm has eaten, never make His people ashamed again and pour out His spirit on all flesh (Joel. 2. 12-13, 16, 19, 25-27). The result would be new visions and dreams (v.28) –in terms of breakthrough ideas for our generation in Jesus’ mighty Name.
